Born and raised in Central New Jersey only daughter of Hugh and Christine Erskine, Marissa became interested in fashion design and began making original designs for close friends and family. Realizing her innate talent for fashion and the needs of the female customer, she enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, earning a B.F.A. degree in Fashion Design and graduated with honors.

Inspired by her internships at Jill Stuart, Cynthia Rowley, Mimi Turner and various freelance jobs, she began creating "Made to Order" custom garments such as one of a kind knitwear for private clients. Through this creative process, Marissa began to develop RisSa "A Contemporary line" of dresses and knitwear, which is available in select consignment stores. "RisSa" is targeted for the fashion forward female customer who embraces the spirit of feminine expression and embodies the contemporary woman.

Targeted Celebrities such as fashion forward Fergie, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, and Megan Fox will identify as the quintessential women of the RisSa customer.

The RisSa Spring 10' collection is inspired by the Korean culture of the Korean butterfly and the art of ancient basket weaving. Throughout the collection luxurious knits and weaved yarns are appliqued to create unique textured patterns to emphasize a woman's physique. Spring 10' collection masters the art of feminine detail that distinguishes RisSa signature style.

The goal of the brand is to allow the female customer to become apart of the "RisSa lifestyle" displaying endless sophistication and glamour in every aspect of a powerful woman's life.
